My Own Rentals is a service operated by My Own Rentals, LLC. Connecting a bank account can feel especially sensitive if you have experienced identity theft. This page explains exactly what Stripe, My Own Rentals, your bank, and your landlord do when you use ACH payments in My Own Rentals.
Contact Security SupportNo. My Own Rentals does not ask for or store your online banking username or password. The bank-connection screen is hosted by Stripe. Depending on your bank, authentication happens at your bank or through Stripe's connection flow.
No. My Own Rentals does not store your full bank account number or routing number. Stripe keeps the payment account and gives My Own Rentals reference IDs that can be used for your authorized payments.
Stripe collects the bank-account connection, records the ACH authorization, and processes the payment. Your bank sends or returns funds through the ACH network. My Own Rentals manages the rent charge and payment status.
My Own Rentals stores Stripe customer, Checkout, PaymentMethod, PaymentIntent, charge, and balance-transaction reference IDs when needed, plus payment amounts, dates, status, and allocation records. For a saved bank account, My Own Rentals retrieves only bank name, account type, and last four digits for your masked display.
Your landlord can see rent charges, payment amounts, method, status, dates, and payment references needed to reconcile rent. The landlord does not receive your bank login, full account number, or routing number through My Own Rentals.
No. Tenant payment records are scoped to the signed-in tenant and property. Other tenants do not receive your saved-bank summary or payment account identifiers.
A one-time ACH payment authorizes the amount shown in Stripe Checkout. AutoPay uses a separate Stripe setup flow to save a bank payment method. Once My Own Rentals has the authorized Stripe payment reference, My Own Rentals can instruct Stripe to initiate rent debits for eligible posted charges. Review Stripe's authorization text before confirming.
Tenants can pause or cancel AutoPay for future payments from their portal without landlord approval. Canceling AutoPay does not cancel rent owed. A debit already submitted to the bank may still complete or fail, and ambiguous in-flight payment questions route to My Own Rentals support.
ACH confirmation and bank availability can take several business days. Payment in Progress means the debit was initiated but the landlord might not have available funds yet. For an unusual delay, contact support with the property, amount, and payment date so the processor reference can be traced.
Contact your bank promptly about suspected account fraud, then email support@myownrentals.com about the My Own Rentals payment or saved authorization. Do not send bank passwords or full account numbers by email.
Authorized My Own Rentals administrators use server-side access to investigate payment setup and failures. Operational records can include Stripe reference IDs and error messages, but the application does not intentionally log bank login credentials or full bank account and routing numbers.
